I Pledge Allegiance To The Flag

By alanfreeman

I pledge Allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with Liberty and Justice for all.

First of all, let me point out that we are a Republic! Not a Democracy or a Socialist Communist Nation! What does Republic mean? Republic – a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by representatives chosen directly or indirectly by them. If we are a Republic why does everyone call us a Democracy? I’m not sure. I think it started mid-twentieth century. What is a democracy? Democracy – The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community. Social equality? What? How do you achieve “social equality”? Well, I’ll tell you. You give the government all of your money and let it redistribute it equally among it’s citizens. Hey, that sounds like Communism! Yep, it does. What is Communism? Communism – A system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people. So, now that I’ve cleared that up let’s get on with it!

As you know, Bob Barr has been nominated by the Libertarian Party. He will Protect our Constitution. The Constitution has been watered down and reinterpreted by everyone from Judges to Congressmen! This must stop! Our government has grown well beyond it’s original intent. This is an excerpt from the Constitution -Section 8. The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States; There you have it. It is our governments sole duty to provide for “common defense and general welfare of the United States”. When congress passes all these spending bills are they providing for the welfare and defense of the United States? When they bail out corporations are they abiding by the Constitution? What about sending money to Africa and other countries? I think not! Not that there’s anything wrong with charity but it’s not the responsibility or the right of congress and the President to donate our money for any cause! This should be done by the Private Sector! What about the Judicial Branch? Don’t you think they’ve gone too far? They’ve gone from enforcing laws to making laws. If you want a man that will protect our Constitution then vote for Bob Barr! Do you think our founding fathers thought it would be OK to tax our income? Absolutely not! Only after an amendment in 1913 was it even legal to tax income! Bob Barr supports the Fair Tax and Repealing the 16th amendment!! For more information on the Fair Tax visit: www.fairtax.org The bottom line is our Government is out of control and just keeps expanding and spending. Let’s abolish the IRS and lets cut all these programs that violate the Constitution once and for all! Vote BOB BARR FOR PRESIDENT!

Dammit Allen….I’ve got somebody to vote for now. Bob Barr is. apparently, the shit. Now if the rest of the country would get their head out of their asses, that would be great. I think everyone is too hung up on voting Republicrat or Demlican….that’s not a typo by the way….those just seem to be the main choices. Bastards.

    Well said Tony! Well said!

well said tony.i think there is a sense by the 2 parties that they deserve power they give money to the por to ensure that block of voters, and when a very small percentage of americans (legal or illegal)vote they are guaranteed power.this is why bob barr scares me wasnt he involved in wasting alot of tax payer money for the clinton impeachment?im not sure if itll be politics as usual or truly liberatarian principles

I think he has truly seen the mistakes of his past for what they are. I hope he truly represents my libertarian views. Thanks for your input!

It would be great to have Libertarian influence in our political system. Because right now, it doesn’t seem like OUR political system.

Open the debates! First one is Friday!

I’m not a bot, I know you care about the democracy of our government, so we need to get this done. There are 6 Presidential candidates this year all of which are qualified and capable of winning, so why are there only 2 people on the debate! Bigotry, two party bias! Let’s flood the email inbox and the phone lines with: Open the Debates.

It takes 5 mins. Please help me make a difference . Below is a script but please feel free to appropriately modify it to support your candidate .

    Step one:

    Call Barack Obama at 866-675-2008.
Hit 6 to speak with a campaign volunteer.
Once connected, politely deliver the following message:

    Hi, my name is …

I was wondering if Senator Obama, being a believer in equal opportunity and equal rights, could insist that Bob Barr and other ballot qualified third party candidates be included in the upcoming Presidential debates?
After all, Bob Barr is on 45 state ballots.
And she’s polling well nationwide. And he could help Senator Obama challenge the corporate Republicans.
True, Bob Barr would critique Senator Obama for his corporate ties also. But isn’t that what democracy is about? Could you please leave this message for the campaign manager? Thank you.

    Step two:

E-mail Janet Brown jb@debates.org, the executive director of the Commission on Presidential Debates.

    Here’s a sample e-mail:

    Dear Janet Brown:

Greetings. You must be busy. Preparing for the first Presidential debate this Friday. So, I won’t take much of your time. Just wanted to let you know that the American people were not born yesterday. We know the deal. Take that little private corporation that you run. Controlled by the two corporate parties. And funded by big business. For the purpose of excluding independent minded candidates. Friday, two Wall Street candidates are scheduled to be in the ring. Barack Obama and John McCain. The one candidate who represents the American people, Main Street, if you will, will be on the outside looking in. So, here’s a simple request. Drop your exclusionary restrictions. And let Bob Barr into the debates.
It will be good for your conscience. Good for the American people. (I believe it was The League of Women Voters that called your corporatized debates “campaign-trail charades devoid of substance, spontaneity, and honest answers to tough questions.”) And good for democracy. Let the American people have a real debate for once. Main Street vs. Wall Street.

    Thank you.

    Signed
    your name.

don’t want to be rude, just want to clarify and correct your statement requarding goverments duties which I believe is vert important especially in the way this is interpeted.the Constititution preamble reads to provide for the common defense and promote the general welfare.Big difference, for example Don King promotes a fight he dosn’t actually fight. That may be a bad example but I think it makes the very important distinction between provide and promote. Many, especially liberals use this line to try to justify forcible taking from one to give to another. To promote the general welfare in it’s original definition meant to allow every state and citizen to benefit from what the country could provide. The definition of welfare back then has come to mean something quite different now.Hope this helps ,keep up the good work!!!!!

Not that I’m totally impressed, but this is more than I expected for when I stumpled upon a link on Digg telling that the info here is quite decent. Thanks.
